Enjoying this very much and am learning quite a bit about the civil unrest in Greece after WW 2.

First section was wonderful, next section a slog. Have put it down, then picked it back up, and reread….something is off in the author’s treatment of the first section ( Roots) and the connection to the next section. This second section is way too long and too often has a lecturing component, full of facts but no soul.

I like Isaacson's style. Lots of physics references but good so far.

Slow going....Ellis is soooooo dry.

I know Claire and just am a big fan. This is a fun book.

I have never read anything quite like this. I need a dictionary by my side. But it is FUNNY. Very unique style.
