First in a series, New Orleans detective finds dead girl which starts him on a quest to find her killers, leads to local organizations that have well connected crooks. The author is very lyrical, trying to reflect beauty or ugliness onto situations, lots of slang, metaphors. I often had difficulty keeping track of the plot because of it. Not my cup of tea.

Hilarious! It's a bit raunchy, and I suspect that may be offensive to some. While I personally would rather not have the foul language, her description of women dealing with "midlife," especially our physical challenges, are far right on! Any woman who has developed a little "leak," shouldn't read this without wearing the glorified diaper of your choice. Fashion does not matter!😂

Interesting view someone like me who remembers the man and the music. It's nothing earthshaking about it but some details that might make a reader raise an eyebrow. It is striking to see, both in author's self description & in her actions, how incredibly young she really was. Fun book!

Nothing wild, but her voice makes the reader experience her feelings, the good ones & the bad ones. Interesting book!

Finished the book. Good story as Patrick and Angie finally get together, but an incredibly unique scene in a Ballroom.

This is a sweet story about guilt, ambition, & deception allowed to linger too long. Catherine fled KY and a dad who was abusive and eventually, A rapist. She must destroy the confident woman she's become & the happy life she, her husband, & son have been living. If she can't find a bone marrow donor, her son will die; but admitting who she is & why she ran opens the door to grief & possibly, her execution.

Will working undercover in Macon, hiding it from Sara because Lena Adams is involved in the case. But Sara is in Macon because Jared Long, Jeffrey's son & Lena's husband has been hurt & his mom has called Sara to come. A criminal who may be a ghost, A leak in the sheriff's office, drugs, dirty cops, & and abused children lead to the explosive ending.

A really good mystery. How could the mass shooter possibly be innocent? Especially when Reacher knows the shooter was guilty of another such shooting. And why is someone trying to kill Reacher now? An ambitious journalist, the shooter's sister, an active duty USA officer, & A retired Marine become Reacher's allies. A great read!

Fascinating look at Will Trent Alone and grant county with Sarah Well he's partner, faith is still in their hospital after child birth. Blind hatred of Lena Adams doesn't Help as they try to call Find the killer of College students in the town. Becomes aware of Will's dyslexia And provides him hope for the 1st time in his life.

Deep study of the many experiences that created the Caribbean islands that exist today. Drags a bit, especially near the end. As always, Michener does a fine job as historian and exhibiting the shameful behavior that created much of the incredible poverty, alongside the divisions, that ensures there's no simple solution.

Frightened possible scenario, especially with the recent news about AI. A must read for anyone concerned about the state of our medical care or the ability of self- learning AI.

For followers of Eve Duncan, this is a can't miss book! Finally, Eve has a chance to find Bonnie, to bring her body home, with the help of Bonnie's natural dad, John Gallo. But after several encounters, a wild chase through wild forests, the suspect is dead, Joe is in the ICU, Gallo is missing & he may have killed Bonnie in a spell of insanity.

An interesting story of Hebrews who moved into the Promised Land. A young scribe learns their history as he trains under "the greatest scribe of all time." He comes to realize that there are many facets to men, & to judge a man while only knowing one is missing what could be the most important part of all.

Love it. Will Trent is fantastic, and can't wait to watch his future unfold. A genius who has a soft spot for a cheese eating Chihuahua can only be a super star!!

My favorite so far. I could nearly feel the heat of southern Texas, smell the dust & cactus, & shared the confusion of Teacher as he tried to hang on to his faith in the woman who practically kidnapped him. Surrounded by a small town full of racists, murderers, & "good ole boys," wife-beating & kidnapping may be the least of Teacher's worries.

Terrific conclusion to the years of our friends at Alaburg University. The final battle for the continent exploded bringing Bryn face to face with the women in his family including the mother he longed for, the evil aunt, & the grandmother that controls everything... Including Bryn. But the friends of Alaburg,even the tiniest,fight on. Some will die, some will live,but the continent will be changed forever.

Not the best Teacher novel. Plot is too complex, mixed with gang war in NYC &murdered women who had left the Army after being raped & getting justice.

Fantastic web of evil with chat so well developed that the reader connects or is repelled by almost instantly. Rapidly moving tale that becomes more tense & intriguing by the moment. I lost sleep a couple of nights because I just couldn't quit reading! Terrific book!

As the primary goal of the characters in this book seemed to be about providing abortion, it was impossible for me to enjoy.

Okay for someone who just wants an overview trying to learn about Christianity, but that's not enough to reach any real goal like that.
