I take it back, Mike is THE best Susie Tate MMC to date. I'm in tears right now.

Need to keep reminding myself that the point of reading Susie Tate books is The Grovel.

But damn it has been a while since a Susie Tate MMC pissed me off as much as Mike has; he's neck and neck with Dylan in terms of absolute asshole behavior.

I love this book so dearly.

Reading the book WHILE listening to the audiobook is the best decision I've made. My reading speed is admittedly slower, but I'm enjoying the characters so much more because of the VAs.

I am trying so hard with the FMC here. But god damn it's one thing to have a healthy amount of paranoia and another to spin yourself around in circles because of your own inherent biases. Also, she latches onto whatever theory works and it HAS to be right 😮‍💨 Ma'am you've been assuming things since chapter 1, ffs.

Navessa Allen's wit and prose shine through in her banter and the way the plot is narrated; I love the personalities she gives to her characters. She gives them more than just a name and a part in the plot; their involvement brings the plot to life, in fact. I'm quite engaged in the mystery of what's going on and who is behind it, so much so that I'm more invested in that than the developing relationship of the MCs.
