I am would be surprised if this doesn’t make my favorites list which is my version above 5 start list. Mentally I’m skipping while reading this. Me realizing I’m going to do everything in my power to get her other books. I just rec 6 of her books to my library for purchase yesterday.

I’m hooked. it’s wonderful. internal dilemmas a workholic and happy go simp.

Aleks is radiant. “By the way, you have really nice penmanship. I like that in a woman.” — I just started giggling.. He’s nice confident and easy. How nice would it be to be like him?

Nic- I love her. I am her. Some of the time. most of my life. As confident as he is we know from her thoughts she is submerged in doubts.

Her friends are good with Aleks and Anya. And there’s all these relationships that have been referenced. I wonder if Anya and Maya have books too.

But drama is stirring and frankly I like Aleks.

ahhah and then there is Aleks, Anya’s brother and as we all know her love interest. This man tried to talk her off a treadmill. She’s thinking about the time his sister nonchalantly mentioned “her brother” noticed Nic is out of shape in a press conference.

We’re at the moment where Nic’s strength and conditioning coach had fam emerg. Nic needs a coach. Anya has 2. OFC the her friends are suggesting Aleks.

It’s their world. reminds me of Zapata’s Lukov. Their sports world is competitors/colleagues. They share training space. Know each other. Have friendships/rivalries etc but it’s professional too. Ice Princess is a ref for me too.

Nic is not a social butterfly but she’s found her tribe. Struggles with acceptance internally. Like contributing to convo finding the moment is a concern. They bring her in especially Del

She feels like they’re eager to fail. It irks her. This is her dream. Her work’s zenith. Then we have past history with Delilah - My delilah, I love her. I didn’t read drop shot but Miah’s book, delilah’s agent’s book. Delilah is already Delilah to me. She’s the one I already know. So any mention of her is always good. They used to be doubles partners but then she found love with Matteo. Nic is good with this>

Her mom was tennis world pro. Nic is a lifetime athlete. Just narrowly losing big tournaments. She is hungry to win. Her relationship to Anya her main competitor. She drives Nic up a wall. They’re both legacy players. How she frames herself. What she feels she can do, achieve, her strong sense of disappointment - pressure building within her.

We get a press conference internal dialogue. Her refining answers pov

I like the physicality, training, competition, and the discipline. I am saying this but it’s very fictionalized tennis watching. I like the plot and the drama of it. I’m getting into tennis too but I am someone who I take with with grain of salt when it comes sports knowledge.

TBH I am having so much fun with this book. Newbie here but wooh it’s nice liking what I’m reading without effort - clearest writing in min

Tennis knowledge this clay court particular and favorite court. Form. All of it —-I really like this included. Details. Well researched but also to some a degree the author likes tennis. Spectator or player. Details you know by experience vs info gathering. I watched All American Homecoming. Thea especially was my fav. That was my intro to tennis. It came with a storyline. Comp watching on TV as sport. ->

fast thoughts edition:

- This is such clear and seamless writing. It’s easy to read. Really well written. I think a lot of writers in general don’t have this clean cut —“tight” writing. My eyes are not going to wonder because there is “leanness” to it. It’s not dull or lacking style or voice, It has voice and intention. ( I have few theories why. her job job prob requires writing. )

This was actually really perfect. First A love the science behind yoga. B. I love credit. Yoga comes from South Asian cultures. There are whole industries that utilize this as newly discovered knowledge. I appreciate more anything to see names and history of poses and practices included. C. There are so many diagrams. They are clear and abundant. It’s a measure above last book by one of the co-authors/institute.

Tips: if you wanted to reach a wider audience. I would include summaries, simplify language for summaries, pneumonic devices and analogies, and most crucially a few more diagrams ( a lot more— even though I very much liked and benefited from diagrams. )

This is a tool for practitioners— I see this as very helpful for them. This is equally beneficial to anyone going to physio or physical therapy. I say this as someone has attended sessions to support family. this includes those exercises and reasoning behind choices.

this is so handy. I can admit this goes above my understanding of anatomy a little. My opinion this may not be for the lay person to understand anatomy. It’s not dense in terminology. The bk is sectioned to include necessary reviews before going into treatments/ therapy But suited for those studying physiotherapy, rehabilitation, sports medicine, or health most

I like books that reassure you that you can have a great life with the right people because they make everything better. curto prizes friendships especially group friendships. mia and coop — i will be waiting.

it’s sweet but tbh figuring out that your dream life means a life with the people you love around you. that you can have it no matter how uncertain you feel in the present is so chefs kiss.

they’re just so delightful. I was waiting for the moment where he tells how long and how much he’s always liked her. she starts to catch on then there is a mammoth storm and really insane but totally realistic weather phenomenon that screams DANGER. That’s an interruption that is frankly a good reason not to confess. Me and my watch—when are they going to talk about it.

I feel this so strongly. the way romance has superficially selected certain professions is limiting and holds back our characters from being the well realized people. this goes extra for making everyone a billionaire. that’s choice that’s partly convenient.

I freakin love that their both meteorologist. I love that they nerd out together.

romance tends to romanticize jobs. economics isn’t sexy when you don’t have $. but a job while not an identity is part of daily life. ( if someone isn’t working that’s perfectly fine. their daily life will include something else whatever occupies their time that’s not unimportant. It doesn’t need to be core to them but done well)

it’s still so hard to be balanced. i think knowing curto took time to write this makes me love it more. for me this is her best book in terms of balance. I love how deep this goes into hurricanes, weather, and the industry/career of meterologist. I want professions done well. I don’t need it be core to the story but done right.

I said I just read face off. that’s about 2 hockey players on the same team. that started off brilliant but lost it’s focus the team + sport when the romance came in. I am not asking to cut down romance of it all. my solution is to write a longer book where you keep you focus but incorporate those moments without losing connection. that’s still hard. idea of being team. that’s good way to bring -><-

I think this was best of all her books. I love the balance. I just read face off. I didn’t know she was 14 books in. maybe that’s the lucky #. I have this theory that I don’t normally enjoy trad pub for author who I read as indie or self in romance. I think there are restrictions and oddly enough not as good editing. Not this one. This might be a first for me. That trad pub of indie author ranking #1

this is such a +++ i am 75% in. jobs. contemporary romance tends sticks to certain jobs . i think this in film too. how detailed and researched and incorporated the job is to them and their life is a major plus pt . exceeds everything. i love how unique and well researched this.

I am such a sucker. I love it. I love that they both love weather. mausam is awesome forever. I am having such a good time. I just love the soft flirting. Puns and prodding cuteness. I never read Lyla Sage when she was crossing over from Indie to Trad. I read a while after. I feel like this what readers felt like. I know Curto is solid. I want her to be appreciated. If this the shot, I hope the best.

She was always going to write a book with clifi scifi at the heart of it. She’s Shannon Lee collab since. Written for TOR another novella series. Given what’s she’s said in the past. It’s high time. This was always coming since EXO myself included didn’t read it but clearly has passion for it.

Fonda was corporate strategist for Nike. She had a very corporate career. She takes a lot of that knowledge and experience puts it into her book. This is come into Green Bone as well. ( Incomplete reader no spoilers plz) Her love of scifi. I’ve read interviews where she talks about how fantasy readers think of scifi different sff but it’s essentially the same thing. her YA series EXO. I read the first chapter

I think fans Amina Al Sirafi or Dalinar pov would really enjoy this. Isako is very worn down protagonist. She is decisive but tired. As a fixer she has perfected everything that can be done. Within this last chapter one of her apprentices and now we have met her mentor. She’s looking out for both of them. Their society is very cut throat about rules. 1/
