i like it so much how realistic it is that Ferenc is the emotionally vulnerable one out of the two. i just love how easy he crumbles in Leo's presence. also, Ferry is right, supernaturals really are a bunch of fishwives sometimes. 🙄

i love love love how Ferry is quite literally the definition of patience. ESPECIALLY with his circle of supernatural friends who dear God, have such an appetite for gossip... 😮‍💨 they're like a bunch of highschool girls sometimes i swear. 😂

i both love and hate how this book is literally pulsing with life and all its wonders: love, family, friends, desire, loss, grief, pain and growth. it's just a beautiful mosaic of things and words that live inside us all. it almost feels like it's too much, which is why i am writing this at 2 am on a monday

the way this book made me realize how much of a man I've also become in the past years, just like Ari.. this novel is absolutely amazing. the intensity of everything and the way the characters just live and interact... it almost borders on being cliché while actually being a masterpiece that makes sense

why did i wait so long to read this sequel?? like actually why?🥲 i forgot how beautiful Benjamin's style is and how his characters don't speak to the mind, but to the heart. i wish everyone would talk and think and love as Ari and Dante do.

the absolute chokehold Calix and Rhory have me in is making me 💢💢. also, i love how in this serie, Ben makes us feel as though we have lived for centuries, seeing entire races be cursed into existence or on the verge of being obliterated only to be brought to life again.

the. fucking. lore. and the way Rhory is being unintentionally gaslit by literally everyone (well, almost) in Darkmourn. 🥹 also, Auriol as a grandma? badass.

the way the previous story in the serie creates lore for this one is just awesome and i think it's a nice aspect that really binds the volumes, even though they're standalones. also Faenir makes me ache 😔
