I could not understand how the man was unable to tell the difference between my actions and my feelings, which were so strong and pure by then that I could feel them radiating from me like some kind of heat.

Reigion ould do no more for my mother than the hope of posthumous success could do for me. Whether you think of it as heavenly or as earthly, if you love life immortality is no consolation for death.

In theory, a person perceives an object of sight by means of a ray of light emitted through the eye of a person. The ray travels putwards from the eye and then renders visible the object of sight. If I subscribed to this theory, I would probably suppose that the young biographer had been photographed just at the moment when her eye lighted on an object of much interest to her: perhaps an object visible only to her.
