The prelims of the Revolution are laid out very nicely here, the Townshend Act, the Stamp Act and etc, without the minutiae that other single-volume histories ("The Glorious Cause" for example) dwell on. Intricacies are good for research but for a greater overall understanding of the timeline and the bigger picture, "Angel In The Whirlwind" is doing fine so far.
