I’m trying to make this happen before New Year’s, but it’s looking all the more futile😭 either the first sucky review for 2026 or a DNF. Not happy.

Started this on a whim and well? It’s very fast paced, but that isn’t currently working in its favour. Boy howdy, do I have things to say and reveal about myself in this review.

Wow, this is really bad. I’m shocked. However, it seems to be getting better. Only time will tell whether that assertion holds.

It’s incredibly cheesy. We’re going through the motions for a conclusion. All the dialogue seems so forced to be deep and reflective. I swear, every single perspective character has had to make some grand statement on the powers of love. Ughhhhhhh.

Already an improvement as far as the first chapter saga is concerned. At least I know to expect a 3 year time skip.

I admittedly don’t understand what Jemisin is trying to get at with Tonkee. I don’t want to say it’s been wholly indelicately handled thus far, but its introduction was certainly something. Why describe your protagonist staring at someone’s genitals? Idk it’s a weird way to approach it, for starters, and the more I read the more hope I subsequently lose.
