If you picked up this series after watching Master and Commander, it takes more than a little time to adjust. Namely, you have to read most of the first book to get the writing.
Patrick O’Brien’s transitions are weird, and you have to really get familiar white how he writes. But in Post-Captain he’s hitting his stride. It’s Bridgerton mixed with finding a purpose when the shooting stops. Overall good!
