What I’ve read thus far really resonates with a lot of my own philosophy. I’m constantly amused by Vonnegut’s phrasing, but horrified by the sickening events that tinge his humorous delivery.

I’m baffled by just how dark these past few chapters have been, only to end rather humorously. I was disgusted by Yossarian and Dunbar’s assault of Nurse Duckett, but I think you’d have to be crazy to not resonate with Yossarian once his new roommates arrive.

Damn... what if war profiteering eas evil? Rough shit to read, that’s for sure.

There were parts of this chunk that I just straight-up did not understand, but I think this is the sort of text where confusion is welcome.

Look, I get what Evans is trying to say here. Nevertheless, I just can’t stand it when indoctrinated people perpetuate a belief system that can’t help but attack and attempt to devour everything outside itself.

Pretty good stuff so far—we began reading this in Contemporary Lit since last week and I forgot to log my progress until now. I love the switching between light humor and just abysmal, shell-shock-inducing dread.

A very sad beginning to what is most likely a very sad story. I’m excited!

I was able to glean a little bit of comprehensibiliy from the text this time, in a short reading break before a class. I’ve yet to really understand or enjoy this, though.

Fellas, I think I may have bitten off a little more than I can chew with this one. Maybe it will get more comprehensible next time—I kinda feel too tired to really understand what Fred was trying to get across.
