I’m enjoying the book but getting frustrated with how many times the author uses the phrase “crippled general” as if that encompasses the whole of Arnold’s character. It seems an inappropriate way for a historian to write and makes me doubt the authenticity of the research and conclusions.

It’s prob sacrilege to say, but I’m just not interested in this one...maybe I will be later

Beautiful writing-I never could have guessed the ending.

Not exactly what I was hoping for, but some interesting points

He really developed each of the characters so they didn’t come off as one dimensional. This was a great listen even if he did seem to end it a bit abruptly.

I usually love Erik Larson’s books, but I just couldn’t get interested in the story for this one. Just so much detail.
