It's obscene. I've got 10 books going and can't seem to finish any one of them! Dandelion Wine and the two biographies have the lion's share of my attention, while I've become accustomed to reading a Psalm and a de la Mare poem every night. The rest will have to wait their turn patiently, as the AFI Film Festival is beckoning to me. Cinema is a harsh mistress.

Finishing the last (so far) of Dad's Ty Buchanan books.

Finished "Poroth Farm." Klein's sense of pacing is exquisite, and the story builds slowly, inexorably toward a humdingery conclusion.

Picked this up for T.E.D. Klein's novella "The Events at Poroth Farm." I've heard it called one of the great modern weird tales.

Reading this for Kelly Link's "Stone Animals." Peter Straub called it "one of the greatest stories of the past twenty years."

Taking a short break to read "The Procurator of Judea" by Anatole France, an intriguing short story referenced in Zeffirelli's Jesus diary.

So, if we are to take this story seriously, the human race was created in a test tube by giant, super-intelligent cucumbers. Ah, Lovecraft.
