My problem is that her ex is SUCH a cartoon villain (and seems to have been since the start of their relationship??) that I can’t figure out what she ever saw in him if she started out as feisty as how everyone claims she was in the past. anyway girl STAND UP.

first 20% VERY exposition heavy trying to do the work of making this NOT Harry Potter. this is kind of proving my point about fics made into novels. but we shall see. def what happens when the story is already written without it and you have to do the world building with the story already in place.

I don’t think all age gaps between consenting adults are inherently problematic or anything. I think it’s perfectly possible for a 20 year old to be mature enough for a guy like him.
I just do not think that 20 year old is her 😂 girl being a genius still does not make you mature enough for him
