I just love this series. Excellent plot management planting the seed with Leo for next book. LOVED seeing Mindy’s Dan’s fiancee Heather. She is so fun! The beginning with Hazel’s PT and medical stuff was a little stressful for me personally but after that the story took off and was excellent.

That said I wish it was the start of a series because the world is so rich I really wanted to see more of the characters. The payoff also felt a little uneven with Augusta spending the whole book protecting Eames and Piper and working with them and then … poof. Similar with her family. Much to consider.

I think I’m going to like this one the more time I spend with it. Insanely timely and a fun action romp. I described it as teen Die Hard today and I think it could even be by way of minority report with the surveillance element and tech.

This one is really special. Visually stunning, pitch perfect text. Thoughtful meditation on the passage of time and being present and back matter about what happens in a day.

This one felt like it went a little too long. I stayed with it for the mystery part but it got a little in the weeds adding in curiosity and other things. The way some of the text is included as illustrations in the spreads did not work for me and made it hard to parse text order on some of the pages.

Perhaps to be expected from the title but a bit one note and a note that is really dropped in without much context. What is the point here? Unclear.

Wonderful. Beautifully illustrated and very charming text. Shows a variety of people and cultures and foods. Back matter about where chopsticks are used, when they were invented, best practices, and rules. I got a little lost in the nigh market pages--I didn't register the hiss pop as part of the text and wasn't sure where to go--but otherwise quite beautiful.

This didn't quite click for me--the text rhymes a little but not all the time--but it is a good early concept book and part of a series. Deeply appreciated the how to read guidance at the end with different ages and tips and tricks.

dynamic story about a girl who struggles with anxiety/fear & learns how to be big & brave for her friend bird when he is injured. The text moves readers along well & the illustrations are very striking with a few page turns that reorient the book. I think a note about grounding exercises (how Violet gathers herself to go help Bird) would have been helpful but adult readers can bring that into the chat with littles

cute building book with cutouts transitioning from page to page. Back matter explains pollinators, bees, and spells out in longer text what happens in the story plus tips to help with health pollination in your own garden space.

A lot of this was quite hair raising but of course Rosh brought it all together in the end. Much better in print than audio. Very fun that the sister’s name is Yvlle but pronounced evil

I think having the color of the anime would have helped differentiate between the characters early on. I wasn’t sure about this for the first half but by the end and the second half I was invested. Not sure when but could be convinced to read more/finish the series.
