What a load of tripe.

I've read almost half this book in one sitting. It's captivating. The description of depression, reading as one who has suffered it, makes me want to scream in frustration that the protagonist can't hear me, that I can't help her. It's wonderful but horrible, too.

(From the book, p43): "Even now work seem[s] to distress psychologists and psychiatrists and sociologists more than the workers themselves. They have found the wisdoms to accommodate to it." It's one bloody step from the colonial Noble Savage bullshit! Hmmmmm...

I'm increasingly troubled by the premise of determinism that underlies this whole book, & Sheehan's high-handed tone of extreme entitlement is getting to me.

Continues in the same vein. Truly excellent, whether you're keen to keep bees or just want a light hearted read to teach yourself something.

Thus far, I've been blown away by this book. Easily digested, great layout, nice tactility, the author has an excellent bedside manner, and the information is fascinating. I'm loving reading this book.

This is so utterly fantastic so far. It's like stupendous chocolate; while you want to consume the whole lot at once, you make yourself eke it out and save it for later, eating just little bites at a time and savouring the wash of richness and bitter sweetness across the tongue. I'm loving it.
