Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things
Not even 40 pages in and I've snorted multiple times, choked on my drink and laughed to the point of tears

Really enjoying this book. The only downside is staying up too late because I'm so caught up!

Hmmm - haven't gotten to the claustrophobia part. Curious about whether more details of the nanobiotechnology will be revealed or just referred to

Gone Girl
I feel like a pinball! When will the next unexpected flipper or kickramp send us ricocheting in another direction? And oh how I cringe as the now apparently hapless Nick does the new stupid thing

I will be sad when I'm done with this book but I have some good recommendations to follow it up.

I vaguely remember buying this book in the 80s. And I am now regretting buying it for the 2nd time. Sigh

My Own Country: A Doctor's Story
Loved the tv movie (Naveen Andrews!) and I've read several Verghese essays. His style is beautiful, caring and detailed. I'd read his clinical notes!

I loved Highwire Moon and all of Susan Straight's Salon essays. Started off intriguingly and getting better

It's amazing that such a dense read has such flow. It's like having a conversation that evolves naturally but surprisingly.
