I vaguely remember buying this book in the 80s. And I am now regretting buying it for the 2nd time. Sigh

I think the chapter "Egg" is one of the funniest things Margaret Atwood has ever written. If someone else were merely describing the Crakers you would never get that "frustrated parent of a toddler" feeling.

As usual, tough subject matter - the impossibly gray/grey

Loved the tv movie (Naveen Andrews!) and I've read several Verghese essays. His style is beautiful, caring and detailed. I'd read his clinical notes!

I loved Highwire Moon and all of Susan Straight's Salon essays. Started off intriguingly and getting better

It's amazing that such a dense read has such flow. It's like having a conversation that evolves naturally but surprisingly.

Wow! This was highly recommended by a dear friend and it's definitely living up to it's potential!
