1. I like what he says about the two minute rule because I always thought it was a lowsy trick as well. Why would I do the two minute rule if I know the point is to get me to stay for longer? But just doing the thing for two minutes and then having to stop straight away just so you can get the habit into motion/ established is pretty good. I think I will try this with journaling or meditation.

quick note: I'm starting to realise what everyone is talking about when they talk about Murakami's objectification of women. Why does the male lead always have a married girlfriend who he meets on a schedule to have sex with?
