Fairly snarky so far with not a lot of new information hooks to capture my attention - rehashing a lot of what was already in the press. But it's early yet...

Had to get to 80% before the plot began to unfold. The characters should have been gamblers. The odds they over came were ludicrous. With that kind of success they would have been rich beyond their wildest dreams! Finding a treasure chest sunk in a swamp a century before? That is difficult today let alone two millennia ago.

Simplistic character development, mundane story, no engaging plot, too many English colloquialisms, no sense of being immersed into first century Roman way of life, it's like someone took the diary of a WW2 British soldier replaced British equipment and ranks with Roman Legion equivalents and published. Very disappointed.
