This book is very slow and very political. By the 40% mark the political intrigue ramps up and there are a lot of interesting things building, but it’s still mostly plotting and negotiations.

Overall not much has happened. I think this is more of a cozy fantasy than anything. If you like slice of life cozy fantasy like legends and lattes I think you would really like this.

I’m a little over halfway through and not sure I’ll finish this one. The pacing is very uneven and after a very slow start it got more interesting halfway through, but it’s started to meander again and there is another 300 pages to press through. The magic system is fairly interesting, but all over the place between quantum entanglement and power of names.
