something strange is afoot

i take back what i said about cathy. what is wrong with her lol

imma be real i feel bad for cathy… like she’s crazy but she was roped into marriage/salinas valley/getting pregnant without any say in the matter

noooo susan! not having her pov when she was turned felt like a disservice

kind of a slow burn, didn’t really get interested in it until maybe 150 pages. there’s just too many characters for me to follow and i really only care about 3 of them. but i’m interested to know what’s behind the bigger plot. also king needs to be locked up with the way women are talked about in this book😭

of course june ruined the whole meaning of the book athena meant to write

“taking Athena’s manuscript felt like reparations, payback for the things that Athena took from me.”

bold of this white author to say she’s getting “reparations” for an asian author being more successful than her. 😹 june is a piece of work.
