Double standards but it's influenced me to get rid of my superficial wants in a relationship. There's a lot of comparing what you want in a man to yourself yet make no judgement on men who wants something in a similar superficial or ridiculous vein, or on "good men" men who trash talk a woman for letting him go for the same reasons.

Finally past all the racial political talk and i to the good stuff.

I hope this goes more into how to raise your children to have more pride in their identity because I fond that topic in this particular area interesting.

I feel like I found this at a good time in my life. These parts about the light skinned/multiracial girls vs dark skinned girls is really interesting though.

I do wish I had this book, or that there were more resources like this like there are now, back when I was in my early 20s to enlighten and prepare me for what I really wanted. But if I ever have a daughter I will be teaching her the same so she can live the life she deserves.

The only thing I can't get with is her advice to only date men 15-20 years older than you. I have no problem dating older but 15-20 years exclusively??? 😩✋🏼 I caaan't.

Wish I could have the option of organizing my highlights into "can agree with" and "dont agree with" cause I read some hilarious stuff and my highlights don't always align with my personal views.
