TQ - There are multiple tough questions in this book. One of them is should Petrel trust Squid and Krill about her secret that she has the stranger? Another one is, once she trusts them, How does she get Fin to Dufftown without being seen?

Aha Moment- Petrel wants to find a way to sneak the stranger out of the brig. She has an Aha Moment and comes up with a great plan. The plan works and Petrel and the boy escape.

TQ- When they see the stranger on the Iceberg, the crew and passengers are faced with a question. Should they save the boy or leave him frozen on the berg. Chief Albie gets the message through the pipes and decides to send a life boat out to save him.

Contrast and Contradiction - Luke/Lee is not talking and won't talk to the people. I don't know why he doesn't talk but I'm sure he can, because he whispers.

Memory Moment - Cort's Dad remembers when he and Cort's Mom were happy together, and when they were married. He is kind of sad that they won't be toghether anymore. They have to live at the Stovall's house until they have enough money to build a house. I think Cort's Dad and Mrs. Stovall should get married and they can just all live at the Stovall's.

Aha Moment- Cort realizes that the storm surge is still rising and will be rising for a few days. This means that they can't stay on the mounds with all the other animals. They have to escape the hogs and climb up a tree. They need to stay in the tree until its safe.

TQ- There are lots of tough questions in this book. This one was a very crucial one. Cort, Liza, and Francie get to the opposite side of the bank that the house is on, because Francie got caught in Catfish's leash. Cort is deciding whether they should try to swim across the river, stay where they are in the half submerged houseboat, or make a mile and a half walk to Bottle Creek and find higher ground.

TQ -As the storm approches Cort and his dad they are faced with multiple tough questions to get ready for the hurricane. One question would be, What should they do with the houseboat?

Contrast and Contradiction
I never knew that a parrot could weigh almost ten pounds. That really surprised me, because most birds are very lightweight. They are much bigger than I thought and the research is really cool.

Signpost- Contrast and Contradiction
Sebastian thinks that Johnathan knows where Colin is and is punishing him for that. He doesn't actually know where he is. Until Sebastian tells Johnathan that he has to go find Colin and can't come back until he actually finds him. Sebastian used to like Johnathan, now he punishes him with every chance he gets. Even telling all the kids why Johnathan is at Slabhenge.

Signpost - TQ
Sebastian is taking over and he keeps putting people on the Sinners's Sorrow, for long periods of time. I don't know why the rest of the kids there would let him do that to them. He said there would be no rules, but now he acts like he is the admiral. I think the rest of the kids should do something about that before they get in trouble.

Contrast and Contradiction - After all the adults get killed at Slabhenge, all the kids want to stay and mess around. They want to do this to be free from adults and rules. Colin doesn't want to stay, even though everyone else is. I don't know why he would want to go, maybe he's just tied of being there and wants to go home.

Again and Again - When Jonathan is in his cell trying to talk with the person in the cell next to him, The other person keeps whispering, "Quieter." Next , Johnathan hears Mr. Mongley coming and he splashes Johnathan in the face with a bucket of cold water. After that he says "Next time it won't be water." I think the other kid is telling him to be quiet because he knows what will happen if you are talking.

Words of the Wiser - Once Jonathan is inside the building he is talking to the leader of the prison. There is another boy who has already been there before acting as the leaders servant. When Jonathan talks to the leader, but he doesnt respond. The boy in the corner runs over to Jonathan and whispers in his, "You need to call him admiral or sir!"

Aha Moment - Jonathan realizes that where the boat captain is taking him, is a really bad place. The captain, Cyrus, tells him that he's gonna get thrown in with the wolves.

Signpost - Aha Moment:
When they are hiding their belongings they realize that if they put things in different spots, the guards won't find everything they have. This means the gaurds won't realize they are living at the museum.

Signpost - TQ
Claudia is faced with a tough question on which brother to bring with her to escape to NYC. She decides to bring her middle brother which ends up being a good choice. The brothers name is Jamie, and he has over 23 dollars. I guess their 27 dollars is gonna help them survive in the big city.

Q and Angela have a TQ when they are fending off Eben and his crew. Q is doing a magic trick to some doctors to waste time for Boone to meet them. They have to keep the doctors with them so Eben doesn't take Q and Angela. Q doesn't know if his magic trick will be long enough, so he wonders if he should ask them if he can do another one.

Q and Angela's parents have a TQ in the beginning whether or not to bring them on tour with them. They end up bringing them which is good because if they didn't, it would be a very boring book.
