I’m not sure yet why she is constantly referring to her characters skin colour. Why is it so important to narrators to point out a shade of black/brown to describe almost everybody in their way? This is not a sarcastic comment, it’s curiosity (because in the most of stories eyes have that role in characteristics, haven’t they?). I’m just captivated by that point of view.
