Uh oh. Minthe seems to be a problem in most Hades/Persephone retellings. I can’t tell if she is into Hades or Hermes or both but she definitely stepped in it with Hades. Don’t be disrespecting his gal!

Yikes! Awkward moment with mama dearest there. It seems like most Hades/Persephone stories have Demeter as overbearing and super protective and it looks like that’s the way it’s going here too. I’m a bit confused about what happens when P eats the seeds but I’m hoping it gets explained in more depth. She and Hades do seem to have more of a connection then they realize. And Orthus cracks me up!! Love him!!

So far I am really liking the book. Lots of in depth description which normally would annoy me for interrupting the action but it definitely works the way the authors do it here. It’s incredibly immersive. I’m always a sucker for a Hades/Persephone romance. This one is a bit slow burn. The two kisses so far are steamy, especially this last one. Whew! What a scene! Can’t wait for more!!

This series is promising to be just as amazing as the Douglas Legacy series. I’m incredibly irritated with Ian, which I’m 99.9% sure I’m supposed to be. But now Sileas is disappointing me with that letter to the queen. I can’t wait to see how this all unfolds! Mallory has done it again!

Good so far. It pulled me right in like the other ones in its series. I’m hooked on the Douglas sisters!! See y’all on the other side LOL

I’m a little confused about the marriage contract...I thought her brother Archie was the earl and could give her away. Now I’m wondering if I missed something?

I was really worried that the first book in this series was a fluke and that this one would dry up like so many other series. But I had nothing to worry about. I’m nearly 30% in and I’m am far from disappointed!! It’s gonna be another long night up reading!

So far I like how the author has captured the thought process of a teenager. It’s a little choppy but that might be because the MC is having a slightly miserable and panicked inner monologue. Either way, it’s captured me enough that I’ll keep reading.

The book opens with two sets of emails back and forth from two soldiers to their respective commanders. Both are humorous and set up the personalities of what I assume will be the two main men in the story- Archer and Killian. We learn a little about Tenney but not a lot. Looking forward to the rest.

The beginning was a real page turner. I’m really loving the world building and character development. Things have kind of slowed down a bit but I’m still excited to see what comes next. The slow burn romance is a little annoying. Either they are romantic or friends but I feel like this far in I should have a better idea about which they are.

For those who like The Chronicles of Narnia this is a good book! It’s got a lot of similarities to the Narnia books but just enough to be different. I’m really liking things so far. Evelyn seems like an interesting character that vacillates between seeming old and wise to young and innocent. Very well written so far! Excited to finish!!

It’s interesting so far. There is a lot of mystery so I’m hoping the author reveals things in a steady stream instead of waiting till the very end.

This author is way over doing the description. It just doesn't flow. Every other paragraph is about what someone is wearing or how a building looks. It is taking away from the story, which is quite interesting.

Really interesting so far. I enjoy how clean it has been.

The main character, Eleanor, is so hard to like.

So far this is a really good book. I love the new take on an old story. There is a lot of violence and it can be very shocking at times. There have been a few disturbing parts. The author also seems to put a little too much emphasis on fashion which doesn't always go with the story. It just doesn't feel like it belongs. But all in all it's definitely a page turner.

The dysfunctional relationship continues....

It's really good so far but a bit confusing. Can't wait to find out more about the time travel gene.

This is a really long but good book. A little too explicit for me. Usually I would have already put the book down because of all the sex scenes but I love the story so much it's hard to not finish it. I've just been skipping over the sexual parts. It's a really good story. Very different from her other books.

The heroine annoys me a little.

I'm always a fan of Elizabeth Chadwick.

There are some slow parts that are hard to get thru but I'm hoping it picks up.
