One of the hardest books I have read in a long time. The chocking feeling in my throat stays with me all day long as soon as I close it. I have never felt so seen in my entire life.

Je n’ai pas de mots pour ce livre énorme, qui touche à des sujets dont on parle rarement avec une douceur brutale qui prend mon cœur dans une étreinte indicible à chaque paragraphe.

Je ne sais pas si je vais jamais arriver à le digérer, mais je ne pense pas que ça soit l’objectif de l’auteure.
Extraordinaire.

Maybe it’s me picking up this book too late at night, but I find that at times the narration is a bit Slow. Some parts of the plot I don’t much care for (aka Ben?), but the prose is fantastic. And man I like Althacazur

Dunno if I should keep reading a novel in which a girl falls in love for no apparent reason with a fella who just murdered her best friend.

I raced to get to the first... ehm... intercourse? Like a madwoman. Only to discover that it was perhaps the only reason that kept me going. I hope the pace will pick up once again and leave the reader with a well-concocted cliffhanger.

I’m a suck for Greek mythology retelling, but man this is gory.

On ressent les frémissements du velours à chaque page. Comme pour Au Bonheur des Dames, Zola arrive à évoquer une atmosphère rêveuse et languissante. Et j’en suis qu’à la moitié.

Can it be already a 5+ reading? It can.
