oh gosh I might actually die from laughter and awkwardness. This first book is so funny because EVERY interaction between the main couple is filled by miscommunication, no communication, and simply them not knowing anything about each others species and cultures. It makes the book so funny!

Oh wow, not what I expected. based on the disclaimer. I really thought it was going to be more graphic, but so far I'm okay with the level of ugliness on the page. I will say it's a slow start and it takes some time to get into the story, but now I feel like I'm speeding through it.

Okay we'll see how this goes. This might be a dnf. There's a disclaimer in the beginning, it says this is an "apocalypse" / "the world is ending" book, so my continued reading depends if the sexual abuse and torture scenes are extremely graphic or if they're easily skippable.
Honestly I can't deal with really graphic.

and look at that it only took a couple pages for the Fae to show their true colors. Now she's afraid and imprisoned and going on about how her friends won't leave her there when she's the one who chose to stay and run from her "friends" I know they're going to rescue her, but I kinda wish they would leave her there to die and we could find a new female main character

I am so mad at Cleo she's so hypocritical, naive, stupid, impulsive and righteous all at once with no common sense. She truly believes that she's right all the time and yet she has no knowledge of the world outside her little village. She won't trust Sam, because he killed a demon who accidentally killed fae kids but has no problem trusting the fae who ordered Sam to kill the demon! does she not have any logic?!

This might be another DNF. I was enjoying the beginning. Although Mary is still her non filtered, "advice" giving self; you do get the story from her perspective and can feel empathy towards her. Now, the mystery is slowing down and the characters seem to be circling one another without progressing and it just feels frustrating to push forward. We'll see, 50/50 chance I might pick it up again and try to finish

I might just DNF this one. I haven't read it in months and the reason, is that the female MC was getting on my nerves. I don't want children so I can understand not wanting to be a mother. BUT if the reason you don't want to be mom is that you have an adult brother who can take care of himself but refuses to do so, because you've conveniently made it easy for him to be mothered by you; that's a problem!

I love Wiley, everything about her, well actually except her name. The name reminds me of the coyote and road runner cartoon. Other than her name though she's awesome! Derrick is such a scared, lonely, and emotionally aloof man and I love him too. So far this is my favorite couple of the series

Coralie is the worst! She's a spoiled rich girl and everything just falls into place for her. I'm 50% in and even though she has realized that she's not the best person, she hasn't really done anything that will endear her to me. I really hope that she gets a rude awakening and becomes a semi logical adult

I'm almost to the 50% mark and if this doesn't book doesn't bring some adventure and action I might just DNF it. So far I'm not the biggest fan of Ella or Natt. They both act like selfish teenagers who don't understand the fragile peace that had been established in the first book.

oh now that they've slept together, now she regrets it and insults him and no longer wants to be there. Girl! Where was your backbone when you were falling in to bed together?!

so this is porn lol. So far there's some story and I want more of the actual story but the two mains just fell into bed together. I'm not sure how to feel about it cause Jule, the female lead, had so many prejudices against Grimarr, the male lead, and now they're just f*cking as if it's normal? I don't know, we'll see where this story goes

I tried getting into this book 3 times before I actually got into it. It was just too much at first. I couldn't get behind this kidnapping and then instantly wanting to mate thing that was going on. Now I'm 42% in and I love Toagi and I'm tearing up over his past and I just want Ceangal to give in to her feelings, cause she does care about him also, she's just afraid.

Lana is so stupid. "why can't you trust me?" she asks the sentient species being held captive and tortured by humans. B*tch I know and understand why he doesn't trust you, why on earth don't you understand that capturing someone and holding them against their will and torturing them doesn't lead them to trusting you!

This is ridiculous! Humans capture a sentient species, lock him in a cage, treat him like an animal and then decide that he must be killed because he refuses to cooperate! I know Lana doesn't agree, but I'm not convinced that she realizes how wrong this is! She is still trying to gain his trust and make hm pass a stupid test. She should be warning him that her species is the worst!

I'm enjoying the story so far and I already know that there is only one sex scene so I'm prepared for that, but Lana is kind of annoying me. The fact that she's so trusting and naive about her colleagues is frustrating. You work in a military base and you're there to integrate new alien species to the human world by making them trust you and tell you their secrets. You don't find that problematic or wrong?!

WOW talk about this being more interesting than the first book. Maybe I just needed a break to really appreciate this series. It also helps that Nemon isn't a homicidal monster but is more curious and somewhat innocent

I'm not a big fan of Ferne and I ended up getting sick (not Covid, thank goodness) so I haven't been reading too much. I'll try and finish it once I get back in the reading mood. I can already tell I'm going to give this 2 stars

Okay everything is going well so far I'm into the story and I like Anna and Jakkar. So far nothing exciting has happened, they're still in a cell, but now Anna says something that got on my nerves. She thinks back at a time when she used to scoff at stories of sex trafficking, and I just got completely pulled out of the book, because what woman has ever scoffed at those types of stories

At this point I'm gonna mark this as DNF. I hadn't before cause I find it silly to DNF a book when you're past 75% but it's been months since I've read this and I remember being annoyed at the continued description of the h looking like a girl of 14/15 even though she was close to 20. I kept finding that weird. If I somehow do get over it (highly doubtful) I'll pick it up again and finish the last 80 pages or so.

Okay it's looking like I'm going to dislike Chapman as much as Fallo

Can we get rid of Fallo? I feel like he ruins every book! Gosh he's so antagonistic and even though he got together with Chapman he's still so rude and disrespectful to everyone. Gosh they can't even have a simple meeting without him throwing a tantrum

LMFAO omg Kat and Dalok have teasing and bantering down to an art. They're pretty funny with one another. Dalok, my beautiful golden retriever!

Oh boy, I really hope Melanie can get over her issues because so far Taliok may be my favorite. He's so nervous and adorable around her, but it's not going well because Melanie has some issues (we don't know too much about her issues yet)

Claudia is so annoying. One minute she's attracted to Kael and clinging to him the next she's trying to escape. All because she needs to be close to a sister, who is an adult but somehow cannot take care of herself. I really hope Amy doesn't turn out to be as helpless and useless as Claudia makes her out to be.

Okay this turned the corner of dirty and problematic to being dirty and so so so wrong and yet I'm still here and cannot put this book down. What is wrong with me?

This is so dirty and problematic, but somehow I cannot stop reading. I am fully addicted.

Man this first book is so hard to read. All the horrible things that men are doing to women and children. It's even more believable, because seeing how things are currently in our society, this future is completely possible. My only relief from the horrible atrocities being committed is that Veral is a gem and just like Terri, I feel safe with him around.
