Done with the first book: Last stand at Saber River. 4 star book. A classic stand off western but with a lot more attention to the psychology of the protagonists.

DNF'ing at this point. Can't stand the repetition in combination with the misogyny and the shallow philosophical rambling anymore.

Everyone in this book is a despicable human being, except maybe Ma.

This looks like it is shaping up to a 4.5 star book

For a book published in 2012 this feels very much like classic 80's style high fantasy.

Still really enjoying the banter and the fast paced action scenes.

Lean times in Lankhmar is a real masterpiece

Might not continue. The story is not gripping me so far and I don't like the audio production

I have a hard time getting into this book.

Finished book 2: Swords against death. This one contained some truly great stories. A lot of these ideas are reused several times by now and these originals were still very interesting.

Looks like we will get a bit more world exposure this time around. Still very grim though

this feels so much like a roleplaysession. some of the discussions about evil and good and their relation remind me discussions our characters had in some roleplaygames

It seems very unlikely that Alexi read Larry Niven books but did not recognize a Tolkien quote.

very strange so far. All the dialogue and human interaction feels slightly wierd. a sort of uncanny valley effect.

I can see why this did become a classic.

All these names makes this a hard book to read.

finished the first book in this omnibus. I can clearly see the influence of this on fantasy and especially on RPG world building. Now a pause before I continue with the second book.

Finished part three. I think Sanderson needs to have a better editor but besides that still really enjoying this.
