This is a fabulous book. A must-read for King fans, and aspiring writers alike. A multitude of soundbites, recommended reads, tips and advice from the bestselling author in the world. Inspiring - makes me want to throw out the TV and dedicate the rest of my life to the written word. I won't, of course...

Strange... Sections create echoes to the previous titles in the series, but I read them so long ago that my memories of the events return like a series of photos developing out of sequence... I'm not a fan of king actually featuring in this story. I have a feeling Roland & Eddie will eventually 'meet' him; it will be interesting to see how it's handled. And am reading on the iPad btw, which has its pros and cons...

I first came across the dark tower saga in 1999, during a particularly protracted bout of king- reading (usual pattern)... Never reached the end. Tbh don't expect Roland to, either...
