I didn't like the writing technique in this book. its straight , too straight with lots of small words and small phrases.
It goes like

ex.
"He came.we sat to eat.we laughed,he was shot,we cried"

I understand the fact that the book was originally written in German, and was then translated. There may have been many lost in the process.The rhythms and meanings of the German language were lost in translation
