Hadn't intended to read further tonight, but had a few minutes... Oh, that chapter (25)... Literally the last couple of lines. I thought this book was rage inducing so far, nothing, could have prepared me for the actual gut punch at the end of chapter 25.
I am not affected by this. I am not related to, nor do I know, anyone whose ancestors were affected by this. But I am so very angry.

I remain infuriated by the number of officials just ignoring the pleas for help from the dentists, doctors, girls and their families!

We listen to this series as audiobooks on long drives together, so, it may be a while before we finish it, but we had a 5 hour(ish) round trip today to start us off.
We have laughed a bit, smiled a lot, paused it to discuss things a couple of times (sometimes something about the story, not just other people's abysmal driving), but all I'm going to say is really, you didn't go for Draggies? I'm disappointed.

I hadn't realised how young they still were. I thought like many other industrial illnesses, it affected them much later.
