I'm starting to regret my decision to audio-read this book. It's pure torture in some segments and not enough enjoyment to make up for it.

Geez, not even 1/4 through yet. I may finish by the end of the year. *sigh*

Prince Andrew's battlefield wound "scene" was quite well written. Even though it was entirely toooooooooo long. There are only so many ways you can describe the sky before a person says "ENOUGH ALREADY WE GET IT, IT'S BLUE WITH CLOUDS!!"

Can't finish. I'm going to have to be a little more selective in my free books. It was good through the sibling rivalry part over the man but right after that, Joan, the main character spewed too many church things for me to handle. Seemed like it was every other sentence.

Get your Funyuns and beer! This is gonna be good! - has to be the best quote from the book! This one has it all hilarity, romance, heartbreak, insanity and a little sex to make it a fall together in a nice cohesive read. :) (minus my spelling of course haha)

It starts getting even better.... and the battery dies on my Nook! It's the only disadvantage of going digital. *sigh*

I was correct in my assessment of the fact that I'd never be able to physically read this novel. I cannot seem to get invested in the characters at all.

A harsh lil quote from segment 2. "Never, never marry, my friend. Here’s my advice to you: don’t marry until you can tell yourself that you’ve done all you could, and until you’ve stopped loving the woman you’ve chosen, until you see her clearly, otherwise you’ll be cruelly and irremediably mistaken. Marry when you’re old and good for nothing…Otherwise all that’s good and lofty in you will be lost."

Oooh, I can already tell I'm going to be annoyed by this book. The first segment is over an hour long and it took 45 mins to get through the preface & character introductions. Not cool Tolstoy, not cool.

Just when you think Cersei can't get any more disgusting she surprises you with something even more vile. Ugh!

Interesting twist for the Stark family in this section of the book. I'm not sure how I'm suppose to be feeling about Stannis. He seems like a complete and utter fool and his wife his a whack job to say the least. They better be getting on with Jin's backstory soon. Seems like many people know, but nobody is spilling the damned beans!!
