Should I be starting another book when I’m already reading two? No, but the Starbright readalong for this book started today and I really wanted to join! Not sure how I’m feeling about it so far - I don’t really like the main character currently, and it’s not really feeling scifi yet, but it’s an interesting start!

I don’t know if I’ve just missed something, but I’m very confused by this world. They’ve said the curses were cast 500 years ago, so I assume that means this is the 5th centennial tournament. If the goal is to kill one of them, breaking the curses, does that mean that no one has ever died in any of the previous ones? Why are they talked about as being deadly if that’s the case? I’m so lost 😭

Why is every realm in this place named ‘something-ling’ (wildling, sunling, moonling etc…) apart from Nightshade? Why does that one get to be special? I hope there’s a reason for it, cause otherwise that feels like such an odd name for it - why not nightling!
