Jurassic Park (Jurassic Park, #1)
Why are the men referred to by surname and the women by first name? Both Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant are "doctor", but Alan is always referred to by Grant (and all the other men by their surnames too) but Ellie is.. Ellie.

I swear if this book isn't any good, I'm never reading another Red Tower book again. This would be the 4th this YEAR that I've read that will leave me disappointed. Give me back my ability to judge books on their covers, I beg of you.

The Last Secret Agent: My Life as a Spy Behind Nazi Lines
The repeated term of "bush baby" that she claimed was her nickname as a child who grew up in Africa is racist as hell, and I don't know how it was included in this book.

Some thoughts to keep in mind for review. Page xix re: Geneva Convention; P.4 re: adoption; page 11 re: Nyama Njoka.
Pages 6, 14, 15, 16 re: wording

A bit annoying that the book adopts American spelling when the author is very much not American.

I've had this cute little special edition(?) set for like a decade, and I have never read them. Apparently, you can make lots of political parallels and so... Anyway, wish me luck.

I'm laughing at the line "she didn't even seem like she'd done much suffering." I think the book is to give sympathy to Taryn but it's doing such the opposite lol

Gonna give this book another attempt because I keep being told this is a really good book. Maybe I hadn't given it enough effort.

"You see, she had absolutely nowhere else to go." Ugh that line gave me shivers, so gross within the context of the book.

He wrote about a character's naked breasts 3 times in almost as many paragraphs. also in the typical "she sleeps naked and woke up with her sheets around her waist." GDI I want to read a book where an adult woman wore a baggy shirt with pajama pants or some shit.

I like Beverly but hate how she's described. There's too much focus on her breasts at all ages and it's creepy. It reminds me of that Tumblr post about how men write female characters. The way Stephen King wrote Beverly is the epitome of that.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Sherlock and Watson go back in time to deal with Biblical things ? We'll see. Seems like it would work as a mashup between Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Who lol
