Oof. I’ve tried. Bland characters. Back and forth in the timeline. Too many dull people but the setting is a place I’d love to be. Alas, wasn’t enough to keep me reading. I enjoyed The Guest List and The Paris Apartment.
Taking this to my building book trade and perhaps somebody may enjoy it.

Why can I not get into this one?! Perplexing indeed.

Took some getting used to the dates back and forth - but once settled in I’m off and running. Clearly the hubby is a scoundrel but can’t wait to see how that pans out.

Enjoying! Taking me some time as I’m traveling and working so much - but the insider info is amazing. You feel like you’re part of this important time and finding out things you never heard before.

Really enjoying - all kinds of insights and tidbits of info I don’t think I ever knew. Hard not to make comparisons between that era and where we are as a republic today.

Gave to a friend for an assessment. I wasn’t enjoying it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Made it to chapter 9. It wasn’t easy. The main character shares every bit of nonsense and thought in an often jumbled way - I kept asking where it was going? Supposedly there’s a murder on an island - one island that takes 3 or more chapters to arrive on (lengthy banter in the lobby trying to check in goes nowhere - as an example). So I loaned it to a friend to see what he thinks - tbd! Moving on for now!
