I couldn't finish this; the lies upon lies was making me too anxious! (I was fine before it got too tense for me; I'm just that kind of person who gets second-hand embarrassment/anxiety from the scenario in this book.) It's absolutely not the book's problem, it's a me problem.

This is a very good and excellently written book about a uniquely American problem.

Would you rather root for an upstart who wants to become a noble dictator, or a kind-hearted genius stuck in a corrupt democracy? I can't help but root for both Reinhard and Yang. This is a sci fi novel written for people with interests in political science, military strategy, and sociology. It starts off rather clunky with the prologue, but frankly you can skip that for later. I'm looking forward to the next volume.

This blog didn't focus on the disowned socialite, instead featuring the main cast of characters in a good balance. Pleasantly complicated small town scandal, written well.
