Right now? Right now they have begun with words...

Free to do exactly as he pleased, indulged...and handed everything he demanded, the 'child bred in the hut of a savage' was becoming a perfect monster." Again, the result of starting out under a false premise - this one being that children are born inherently good and (left on their own) will remain that way.

A very interesting book thus far...

I just began this book and love the opening sentences! I hope I'm in for a good "read " ride...

Strange book. For a time I was trying to find out where the author was going with his twisted scriptural meanings & references. Nothihg is really as dangerous as Truth mixed with lies and this tale is full of them... However, I am surprised by the number of characters I can relate to (sometimes disturbingly so) & how (in some parts of the story) I see shades of who I am.

Actually I am on Chapter 7 but Overdrive doesn't allow for me to see the page numbers of a book. One troubling observation - I DO think references to the number of mentally ill in the U.S. (and the world) are terribly inflated. Even with traditional statistics - I regard them as bloated. Somehow, it appears that the definition of "mental illness" is being misapplied and/or redefined...

So far, so good. Almost too much mystery in the two (non-killing) main characters in the beginning. Distracting for me.
