It's amazing how quickly a book can announce itself as a must-read to the reader. Just a dozen pages in, and I'm introduced to a powerful example of the "pessimism-aversion trap: the misguided analysis that arises when you are overwhelmed by a fear of confronting potentially dark realities, and the resulting tendency to look the other way."

I feel seen, because I observe this in so many others.
