Girl Goddess #9: I remember back in the 90's zines were really popular, but this story was sooooo pointless.

Dragons in Manhattan: I actually remembered this story because it was my first experience of reading a story about a trans woman who makes a baby with her girlfriend. I'm not sure how trans activists would feel about it but back in the 90's it was pretty progressive.

I really have no idea where this book is going to go.

Blue : This story is about the grief and coping mechanisms an 11 year old girl uses after her mom dies by suicide after being mentally ill. Man, this one made me cry.

Tweetie Sweet Pea : A sweet story about childhood innocence.

I know people didn't like this, but I'm really enjoying it. I love how well the kids are developed and their issues feel so realistic.

Ice : A Snow Queen retelling that's really surreal and really obsessive.

Beast : A Beauty and the Beast retelling where they kind of meet in the middle and happily ever after is just a normal relationship.

Bones : A Bluebeard retelling where Bluebeard is a serial killer of young girls in L.A. I mean...

Rose White and Rose Red: This is a Snow White and Rose Red retelling. It's basically about letting a sister go when she finds love. Was probably one of the weaker stories in the bunch.

While this story is exciting enough, the art style isn't my favourite.

Wolf: A Little Red Riding Hood retelling where the wolf is a sexually abusive stepfather. Really rough, but I liked how edgy the main character was.

Charm: I think this was a Sleeping Beauty retelling and it was extremely dark. It's about a heroin addicted young woman who is sexually abused. Francesca Lia Block's books come with all the trigger warnings.

This book is really sad so far.

Glass: A Cinderella retelling where Cinderella chooses to make herself small and has to be forced to to put on the glass shoes and make herself known.

Tiny - This is a Thumbelina retelling, but very focused on a boy. Not sure whether I like that.
