Like a delicious desert this book is so enjoyable I'm torn between devouring it in one sitting or carefully savoring each bite.

I'm saying I'm done reading this book but that's not really accurate. It's a "coffee table" book, replete with photos and stories, best enjoyed a bit at a time. So I will savor this book and not devour it. That said , it is a great memoir of the Laurel Canyon and the musicians who live(d) there. 4 stars.

Browsing... More of a coffee table book. I may never read it all as there are some artists and stories that do not interest me, but the sections on CSNY and Jonie Mitchell and Peter Tork I've read and enjoyed... Quite the place, this Canyon...

Well researched and written. Solid! Even after practicing medicine for nearly thirty years there is a lot here that is news to me... You need to have an ability to understand some big words and think logically, but we should all be able to do that. A topic that is of interest to almost all of us. Headed for 5 stars unless the last 1/3 bombs.

I can't read too many short stories in one sitting .... Individually many of these are exquisite stories, very enjoyable, and very Russian. Small sips, not big gulps.
