I stopped reading a month ago at this point because of the rape scene... First one in the book, and I knew it was coming because of the tv show, but I still irrationally hoped the book would skip it 🤷‍♀️

The way romance is inserted into the writing feel kind of out of place here. We're having a big reveal about one of the mysteries of the plot, and in the middle of it these two are so aware of each other it feels very awkward.

Well, this is going exactly how they always feared it could happen. Makes the excessive paranoia, the lying of their wives, and the killings we've seen so far seem entirely justified.

I don't like the lying, makes me anxious :/

Recently, I saw a lot of people on GR who can't regulate their emotions enough not to comment on unfavorable reviews of their favorite books. Like, you think it's okay to comment on the emotional state, intelligence, or friggin' menstrual cycle of the reviewer? Because they hated the book you loved? FFS sometimes I feel like we deserve everything we're getting as a species.
