Susannah is reading Blackout (Newsflesh, #3)
Finished this book last night and I'm already having withdrawals!!!! God, it was just excellent!! Beyond that, really! I'm so happy to be able to say that this conclusion to the series was NOT a disappointment! Blackout gets 5 stars. (yay!) Review coming when my body allows. :)

How many times can this guy say 'a walking dead'?? Who would refer to them in this way beats me anyway, but the amount of times he says it is so repetitive and irritating! I guess it says a lot about how I'm finding this book, that small things like this are getting to me so much. If it was a better book, it probably wouldn't annoy me quite so much! As it is, well, it's driving me stir-crazy!

And damn it, doesn't this guy know better than to say that 'Things were looking up', in the middle of a zombie apocalypse - I mean, seriously, that's just asking for trouble! (Note, no clue what page I'm on, since I'm reading the audiobook and goodreads doesn't account for that, which is v. annoying - but I'm at the bit where he says the above stupidest comment ever, so we all know whats about to happen, right?)

A diary format with no emotion. NOT a winning combination for me, I'm afraid!!

Ok, so how exactly did Jon become quite such a privileged brat after all they went through outside the enclave and despite knowing half of his family are on the outside? Sure, I'm only at the very beginning of the book, but I'm already annoyed!! I hate when characters change so drastically between books. Really hope this is going somewhere that explains what's happened in the interim to cause these changes!

Does anyone know when this book will be released in audio format?? :o) Can't wait! hoping it won't take too much longer than the paper publication date! (I'm only able to read audiobooks now, due to cognitive and eye issues, it's so frustrating waiting for books to come out that previously I could get the day they came out, grr!)

My first book of the year, and it wasn't bad... Not bad at all!! Hopefully a review will follow soon, once my body lets up on the pain and I can think straight again! :)

I've had this book loaded onto my iPod for months now, but never got around to trying it ... I wasn't sure if it would be my kind of thing. Now I've started though. I'm thinking I should have given it a go ages ago. The beginning is cryptic and gripping and definitely makes me want to know more ... Just as all good novels should be. :)

Philip is just TOO anti a hero for me.... & I'm guessing that's only going to get worse! I especially can't stand how he thinks of & talks to his brother. And the thing is, so far, there isn't really even a better character to even things out. Brian seems an ok kind of guy but he's so completely cowed by his brother that he's almost a non character. Theres no real depth to any of them, tbh, so why should I care??

I'm enjoying my re-read of Ashes, so far, though I'm experiencing the same feeling i had during my first reading, that the first part of the story by far outweighs the second half in quality and enjoyment. I'm hoping that the second book, when Alex is again outside of the protection of the town, will return to the feel and action of the first half of Ashes. :)

I'm rereading Ashes since I don't remember a lot of it from my first reading. (Not a reflection of the quality of the book - I have cognitive damage which causes memory loss) I'm about to read the second book in this series, Shadows, so wanted to re-acquaint myself with the story. :)

Ok ... finally going to have to go back to the beginning of this series! I started reading them back when I was able to read paper books, and this one has been sitting on my shelf half-finished ever since! I've finally got hold of the first 4 books in the series on audiobook, (yay!) so I'm going to start them all over again at some point soon! :) Ai ai ai!!
