It brings me no pleasure to report that the key to success is still being very disciplined and working very hard.

I love Miller’s portrayals of motherhood, both in Song of Achilles and here. It feels very powerful and immediate and real. Makes me understand my own mother better.

I may be the only person alive who isn’t totally enamored with the enemies to lovers trope, but it feels refreshing to me that they’re just, like, nice people who like each other.

One of the cool things about this book is they call Leopard Seals and Elephant Seals “Sea Leopards” and “Sea Elephants” respectively, which I think is very fantastical and we should go back to that.
