Such an exciting story of testimony together with breaks in between to discuss the themes in that chapter. Boy did this strike a note with me. I needed reminding by way of another transformed life that Jesus remains the same yesterday, today and forever!

Point of view jumps from one character's point of view to the next and also skips around quite a bit, all over the place. This adds some confusion. I'm coming into home plate and catch myself holding my breath as tension mounts after hitting third base, none the wiser. I feel I've gained some friends, and I can't wait to pick up another of Ashley's suspenseful neighbourhood dramedies the second this one ends.

My heart is thumping. There's such a crescendo building. One thing is sure, the emotion is overwhelming. I'm on unfamiliar terrain. For safety's sake, I must get away before more happens, before "The Whispers" escalates and I fall into a boggy hole there's no coming back from!

Lots of characters, friendships, neighbours, promises, already a deep tragedy or two in the making, already impossible to put down. Already a mother unable to empathize, hints of rage with a life of its own, too many surprises to make sense of. Deep emotional ups and downs that promise to linger long after the lights are out. Perfect for a spring threatening to come soon, but solid ice and frost blocking the way.
