Will also add reflections on restorative justice were particularly interesting and surprising to me. How do we as a society cope with people who do bad things without throwing them in a cell?

Trudging along! I think my brain is ready for a break from self help and/or non-fiction. Things I’ve liked in these recent chapters:
- centering the importance of noticing the oneness between all beings
- understanding attachment styles and how they relate to romantic relationships
- removing romantic relationships as the peak type of love
- “boundaries are how I love you and me at the same time”

It’s been on my list to reread this one for a year or two now, since I read Renee Ahdieh’s recent trilogy on vampires in New Orleans. I’m already loving how the story is sweeping me up and I hardly remember anything at all so it’s gonna be a perfect reread complete with new love.

Trudging through these last 30 or so pages . Reading this for the second time there’s definitely new insights shaping my understand and connection to her words. Shoutout to bookclub for making me more critical in some ways. But I still think this holds so much value, especially the part about the ways love and harm don't coexist and how intentionality makes love grow.

So far so easy to get into! I’m reading purely for research purposes to compare show Penelope with book Penelope in anticipation of season 3. Also it’s just my way to alternate intellectual & serious books with light and fun books. Should be finished in a day or two.
I love book Colin so far his character seems more redeemable than book Anthony whom I despise!

I’m listening to a great recording of this but it’s only available on YouTube so the going is slow. I was inspired after watching rings of power and getting a little sucked back into lotr lore, I realized I’d never read the books and I wanted to.

This is such a pleasant book to read idk how else to describe it reminds me of a book I might’ve read in childhood with the simplicity of a main character going on a journey while reckoning with their past and knowledge of themselves. It has the depth of “the alchemist” but is somehow also light and funny and all together lovable!
