Just finished the first novella of this collection. I continue to be both captivated, amazed and challenged by Wolfe's fiction. While doesn't write from the first person for all of his works, those that he does are stunning displays of...commitment might be the right word. His ability to suggest the world and context for his narrators through their consistent characterization is exceptional.
