Ashton is a smartass. Callum is , for a Dom/Daddy quite the soft touch at times. More humor in this second book, even though Ashton is attending AA meetings to maintain his sobriety.

Boy, talk about a love/hate relationship between Dane and Alex! With a definite undercurrent of passion buried deep inside both men.

Begins right where book one ended with a smoothness that's astounding!

The story is closing on its conclusion with a few plot twists that add further mystery and danger for multiple characters.

I just think Skylar destroyed the Nothus, but nothing is certain in this story! And after fighting the Nothus, the Sentinel appears to be dying. Or not. One thing I have learned from this book is that nothing is for certain and everything is subject to change.

This is one of Mr. Banner's best works out of all his books I have read. The tone and prose are caring and creative, creating monumental insights for both Stephan and Ryan.

The writing is smoothing out now. But the constant switching of the characters' real & "gifted" names only leads to more needless confusion.

The author is adjusting Ryan and Stefan's thermostats, moving them up to "scouring!" My phone is melting!

This author has a severely disturbing imagination, not unlike S. King in his early books. But disturbing in an extremely twisted, scene stealing and macabre manner that keeps this reader wanting more. The first book, "Sentinel," was good. This read takes the story up two notches!

Totally confusing book. Written like the reader should already be familiar with every character and their alter ego's name and powers. An excessive amount of additional characters at this juncture in the plot only adds to the confusion.

In my opinion solely, this book could be about 100 pages shorter and become a more enjoyable read. An abundance of drawn out scenes that just kill the flow in its tracks.

Ryan and Stefan agree to turn the heat up a few notches. Well, Stefan, who claims to be straight, lights the match while Ryan, who's gay, stokes the fire.

Another victim is found frozen to death in a remote mountain clearing, another mysterious clue above her lifeless head secured to the tree she is bound to.

Tommy and his friends become aware of their "gifts," and put into motion a plan to rescue his father from being killed by the Protectorate. Unfortunately, the group are heinously betrayed placing them all in danger.

A bit confusing, a lot terrifying!
