the way steinbeck portrays sibling relationships is so accurate lmaoo i love how charles and adam go from one damn near beating the other to death to both being petty and bickering as grown men living together

this book has me so stressed my jaw is locked from gritting my teeth too hard

on another note i really appreciate how the author is handling gloria’s storyline with her interactions with allies while deftly sidestepping the white savior trope
