"I was staring at your chest," Evie blurted, her grin turning sheepish at the way his eyebrows shot to the top of his head.

It was simply unfair that even disheveled with an overgrowth of stubble at his chin, he still managed to be devastatingly handsome, his skin gleaming in the moonlight. He looked warm and inviting, like a fuzzy blanket with murderous tendencies.

"Sir, your magic?" she said sleepily as her boss carried her from the room. "Maybe someone else should take me to the healer's quarters."
