Just read the first chapter and I have no idea what, if anything, actually happened...

I’m only on page 28 and I am struggling. I feel like I’m reading a story written by someone just starting a creative writing class - overly flowery, no subtlety at all, forced. Don’t know that I’ll finish this one.

I’m 100 pages in and I’m just waiting to get to the point where I see what everyone else is talking about with this book. At this point, I really just don’t care about any of the characters or what’s happening.

I kept having to return this to the library because someone else kept putting a hold on the book after me. It just started getting ridiculous because as soon as I would return it, they would give up their hold and I would get it back a day or two later. I just got tired of running back and forth to the library... I just couldn’t get through it in time. I guess I just wasn’t interested enough.

I thought I remembered the first book being better written than this. This seems less nuanced, more eye-roll-inducing.

Started quite some time ago but couldn't read this and a psychology textbook at the same time. : P Was enjoying it though and was about a quarter way through. Hope to finish it.

This book feels like it's never ending. I used to love Anne Rice's books so much, and was hoping for a return to those with this one, but I'm just not feeling it. This is taking me forever to read (already had to renew it twice at the library), and I still have over 100 pages left! Still waiting for something to happen. Anything.

Very interesting, and I do like it, but I'm having a hard time getting through it. I never feel like "I can't wait to get back to my book."

I put off reading this book for a long time because, based on the title, I expected it to be a little too spiritual for me. But I have to say, from the first few pages I was hooked. The author is clever and witty and I just want to keep reading!
