The slow descent into Weirdville took a sharp turn, right off the cliff a bit ago. I'm hooked!

Wow. I made my fiancée buy it and read it, too. I was hooked immediately and enjoyed every page. What I really like about King continues to draw me back to his writing again and again. Lucid descriptions and well-rounded characters make this book one of his best.

Thoroughly enjoying this currently. Wish I had more time to read instead of only on the subway or trains. Fascinating examination of language, symbols, and technology. Especially about Charles Babbage and his Analytical Engine and Difference Engine.

So far it's a good read--funny, engaging, full of interesting historical tidbits. A good first-hand account of a self-describes mathophobe's journey toward calculus understanding and enlightenment.
